American couple S & J married back in their home country, but they travelled to Marrakech shortly after their wedding with some friends – so not really a honeymoon, but sort of. We arranged to meet at 7am, so we’d get some peace and quiet and not get run over by a donkey in the narrow lanes of the Medina, but those very lanes, confusing and labyrinthine that were the cause of us not meeting until well after 8am!
The city was starting to wake up, so we went to the Ben Youssef Madrasa which is utterly breathtaking with it’s beautiful Zellij tiles and ornately carved stone that glows pink in the morning light. After a few more portraits in the street outside we went back to their riad for a delicious and well earned breakfast.
